DST News: The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that at least 22,000 people in Gaza require urgent medical evacuation, but only 50 are currently scheduled to leave — a fraction of those in need.

Uncertainty surrounds how these patients will be transported out. Sources at the Rafah crossing have confirmed that the border remains closed, meaning the planned evacuations will not take place through that route.

According to updated information, the selected patients will assemble at the Palestinian Red Crescent medical point in al-Mawasi and are expected to depart early tomorrow morning.

While the exact method of their departure is unclear, the critical concern is ensuring they can leave Gaza to receive the medical care they urgently need abroad.

Many Palestinians had anticipated that the Rafah crossing would reopen following the ceasefire, but the continued closure has led to growing frustration and disappointment among those waiting for evacuation and treatment opportunities.
