DST News: A violent clash broke out between students of Daffodil International University and City University in Savar (Dhaka district in Bangladesh) on Sunday night, reportedly leaving more than 200 students injured.

The incident occurred late Sunday (October 26) in the Khagan area of Birulia Union, Savar. Police, however, have not yet confirmed the identities of the injured.

According to sources, the conflict began over a spitting incident, which led to an argument between students of the two universities. The situation escalated later at night into a full-scale confrontation.

Videos of the altercation soon spread across social media, prompting over a thousand Daffodil International University students to gather at the scene. As tensions rose, some students reportedly tried to advance toward the City University campus.

Members of the university’s proctorial team and police intervened, urging the students to remain calm. Following their requests, Daffodil students took position in front of Bachelor Paradise, while the City University students involved in the attack dispersed and fled the area, witnesses said.

Police have since been deployed to prevent further unrest.
