DST News: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that the effective implementation of the July National Charter will help the nation break free from the burdens of its past and chart a path toward progress and renewal.
“This moment marks a profound historical transformation. What the Commission is handing over today represents the framework for implementation. If we follow this process sincerely and advance it properly, Bangladesh will be liberated from its past burdens. The Charter will serve as a guide for a new beginning for the nation,” he stated.
The Chief Adviser made the remarks while addressing the recommendations handover ceremony at the State Guest House Jamuna.
Calling the day a historic milestone, Professor Yunus said, “Our journey began with the uprising that followed one of the most significant moments — the July Declaration. That was followed by the July National Charter, and today we enter another important phase — the start of its implementation.”
He emphasized the significance of the occasion, saying, “On behalf of the Commission, a proposal will be presented to the government. This is a momentous and remarkable day in the country’s history.”
Professor Yunus expressed gratitude to National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz and all Commission members for their dedication and persistent efforts in bringing this day to fruition.
“Through their tireless work, we will now be introduced to the process of implementation and discuss its future course,” he added.
Later, Professor Yunus presented the recommendations detailing the implementation strategy for the July National Charter.
Members of the National Consensus Commission and other advisers of the interim government were also present at the ceremony.
