DST News: The BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is fully prepared to be taken abroad. Her potential journey to London for treatment now depends on the advice of the medical board and her physical condition.
This information was shared by BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain during a press briefing in front of Evercare Hospital in the capital this Saturday afternoon. He said that BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is constantly monitoring the situation. In addition, the medical board and senior physicians are keeping close watch.
Zahid, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, further said that the government of Qatar was supposed to provide an air ambulance to take Khaleda Zia abroad. However, it did not arrive due to technical issues with their air ambulance.
But even if the air ambulance had arrived, the medical board had said at that time that Khaleda Zia was not in a condition to fly. Her condition still determines when she can be taken abroad. Nevertheless, we are fully prepared. As soon as the medical board decides she can be transported, we will take her abroad.
Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain also urged people not to spread rumors or pay attention to misleading information on social media regarding Khaleda Zia’s health condition.
