DST News: Iran has urged the United Nations to condemn what it called “reckless and unlawful threats” by US President Donald Trump over ongoing protests in the country. In a letter to the UN secretary-general and Security Council, Iran’s UN ambassador Amir Saeed Iravani said Trump’s remarks about possible US intervention violated international law and Iran’s sovereignty. Tehran warned it would defend itself decisively and blamed the US for any escalation, as protests over rising prices and economic hardship continued across several Iranian cities.
