DST News: Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Organiser of the National Citizen Party (NCP) for Bangladesh’s southern region, has issued a sharp warning to India, cautioning that any effort to destabilise Bangladesh could have serious regional repercussions. Speaking at a rally in Dhaka on December 15, 2025, Abdullah warned that “India’s “Seven Sisters” states would be isolated if Bangladesh is destabilised”.
He accused New Delhi of backing forces that are attempting to derail Bangladesh’s election process and warned that such actions would not go unanswered. Abdullah said that if India continues to support what he described as “separatists” or disruptive elements within Bangladesh, Dhaka could, in turn, lend support to separatist movements in India’s northeast.
