DST News: At least 20 people, including 10 children, have died after heavy river flooding struck parts of Haiti, local officials told AFP.
According to the country’s civil defence agency, another 10 people remain missing.
Authorities have warned that Haiti could face “catastrophic” flash floods and landslides in several areas today. The Caribbean nation, which is far less developed than its neighbours, is expected to suffer “widespread damage and community isolation” as a result.
