DST News: Iran has intensified its warnings against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), accusing the Gulf nation of supporting the United States and Israel during recent regional tensions. Iranian officials warned that the UAE could face stronger retaliation if attacks on Iran resume.
Tehran claims the UAE’s growing military, intelligence, and political cooperation with Washington and Tel Aviv has turned the country into a “hostile base”. Iran also criticized the presence of US forces at the Al Dhafra airbase and Israel’s deployment of Iron Dome systems in the UAE.
Relations between the two countries have worsened after the UAE condemned Iranian attacks, shut down some Iranian businesses, and tightened visa policies for Iranians. The dispute has also affected Iran’s trade routes, as many imports previously passed through Emirati ports.
The UAE denied reports that its fighter jets directly attacked Iranian territory, calling such allegations “fake news”. However, Iranian state-linked media continue to suggest possible Emirati involvement in attacks on Iran during the recent conflict.
Tensions are further fueled by long-standing disputes over strategic islands in the Strait of Hormuz and the UAE’s normalization of relations with Israel under the Abraham Accords.
