DST News: The Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is emerging in Tashkent as a dynamic hub for learning and intercultural exchange. Designed as a major international cultural and educational initiative, the project has brought together nearly 500 experts from around 100 countries, along with over a thousand Uzbek scholars.
Collectively, they have developed around 800 projects focused on researching, preserving, and showcasing Islamic heritage in ways that are accessible to the global public.
Far more than a traditional museum, the Center offers exhibitions that chronicle the evolution of human civilization—from its earliest stages to the advent of Islam and the modern era. Its library, along with restoration, digitization, and research facilities, provides vital support for the ongoing preservation and study of Islam, the world’s fastest-growing major faith.
With its theme, “Civilizations, Personalities, and Discoveries,” the Center presents history through influential figures and ideas rather than just artifacts. This approach underscores the interconnection among cultures and the collective contributions of diverse regions and religions to human progress.
