DST News: Israel has announced that it has “resumed enforcing the ceasefire” after airstrikes across Gaza left at least 104 people dead, including 46 children, according to medical officials.
US President Donald Trump stated that Israel “struck back” after one of its soldiers was “taken out,” but insisted that “nothing will jeopardize” the ongoing ceasefire. He also warned that Hamas “must behave.”
The latest escalation followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s order for “powerful” retaliatory strikes after an exchange of gunfire in Rafah, southern Gaza, in which an Israeli soldier was later confirmed dead.
Since Israel’s military campaign began in October 2023, at least 68,527 Palestinians have been killed and 170,395 injured. In the initial Hamas-led assault on October 7, 2023, 1,139 people were killed in Israel, and around 200 were taken hostage.
